Is Sara Carbonero Real Madrid’s Yoko Ono?

It all started innocently enough, right?

There’s one manly adage that drives me absolutely nuts. It’s one of those sayings that’s usually reserved for the most fraternal of functions and those seasonal sporting events which see gatherings of testosterone happy men leaving their pouting girlfriends at home.

I don’t know if this is a southern thing or a young, dumb man thing, but it drives me crazy, as does the obligatory high five that follows this asinine four word expression.

Take heed:

“bro’s before ho’s, dude!”

This has got to be the worst male battle cry in the history of well, man.  It’s ignorant, short-minded, and well, just so very wrong on so many levels.

But today, however, I just might have to concede that this horrific chant may have a speck of truth to it.

You see, after two tied games, Real Madrid has just blown their huge lead over Barcelona (ten points) and now stand at a six point lead, which is nothing to throw your ham at either.

But, Wednesday’s game with Villarreal this week has showed us that something is going very wrong with this team. Not only was there an explosion of red cards at the final of this game, but the whole team seems to be in a hateful mood lately.

Am I wrong to think the Real Madrid players kind of hate each other?

Just looking at their play style recently has me questioning the brotherhood of these players. They’re not at all anticipating each others’ moves on the field. They’re discombobulated and just not meshing well at all.

Have they been winning a lot this season? Yes. And doesn’t CR7 try to encourage a pre-rehearsed group dance after each of his goals? Yes, that’s oddly true as well. But throw in one little tie and the whole team falls into little desperate pieces.

And believe me, I would love to blame Mourinho for this. Just looking at the recap of red cards and expulsions since he’s been at the helm makes my blood boil.

But I can’t help thinking that the blame may lie with a certain someone other than Mou? Perhaps we should be looking a little closer at our precious Captain Casillas?

Hasn’t Iker seemed out of character this last year? Look, I’m sure its not easy having to deal with the “Special One” and all his mierda, but Iker has traditionally been so good for the team. But as of late, it seems as if he’s just not really with the group anymore, doesn’t it?

In fact, I think he may be pulling a John Lennon.

Umm ... the kiss that killed the Beatles kind of looks like ...

Ever since that world cup kiss seen around the world, things haven’t been the same for our little angel Iker.

A team captain is supposed to lead the team. I’m not seeing this from Iker anymore.

Don’t get me wrong, I think he’s still the best goal keeper around, but he just looks angry all the time. His mind isn’t in the game like it was in the good old times; the good old “before Sara” times.

So, someone must step forward and say what everyone else is thinking:

Sara Carbonero has been a distraction since they started dating and it’s only getting worse.

... the kiss that killed the Realtles Madrid!

And now, with rumors of a wedding around the corner, madre mia, this certainly ain’t looking like strawberry fields forever anymore.

It’s her – I know it is. Call me bitchy or call me jealous, but I’m blaming her for breaking up my team, which will be henceforth known as The Realtles Madrid.

Oooooooooh that’s interesting! And I agree!! Tsk, tsk, Sara. Messin’ with my man.

  2. Hilarious theory! I don’t know why I haven’t been reading your blog!

I’m about to move to Madrid this year, so I’ll be following.

I’ve noticed Iker’s been a bit distanciado, too. But, I have to admit, I’m kinda happy for the guy and Ms. Pantene. I hope they do get married. They’re a cute couple and they stay out of the magazines and all the pink press. I admit, I was a bit jealous at first, but since Iker has gotten decidedly less handsome since starting to date Sara, I’m over that!

However, if the girl really is the problem, he needs to think about kicking her to the curb, at least temporarily.

    Liga before ligue!!

“Liga before ligue!” – I love that! I’m going to have to quote you on that one…

Really, I don’t have anything against Sara either (besides her kind of creepy dead eyes) and I really do wish them the best. I just think that Iker has been out of it since they started dating and even more so these days…so grumpy. But then again, he could just be sick and tired of that weirdo Mou…

    • Hahaha “liga before ligue.” That’s a great line; I’m going to tell it to Mario, who’s a RM supporter.

Also … all the cool people (ahem) are getting married this summer. That includes Casillono and me. Ahem.

  4. I know nothing about Real Madrid, but I DO know that I like reading about scandal, especially involving famous people. Or drunken women eating nightshade and then pretending they’re a pirate and stealing a yacht (that happened in my beloved home country, England). Oh Yoko. Erm, Sara.

    • Hamatha says:

Wait – what the what? Tell me more about these drunken, nightshade-eating, yacht-stealing women! Sounds like my type of party! :)

  5. Mo says:

I think SC does have creepy, dead kind of Stephen King eyes! For some reason I dislike her (that “some reason” is probably jealousy, though I´m glad I do still have a bit of a sparkle in my own eyes). What I REALLY can´t stand is Casillas advertising dandruff shampoo and on a football pitch too! At least Yoko Ono dragged Lennon into art, not shampoo adverts.

    • Hamatha says:

ooooh, me too! Her eyes are super creepy. Although, she’s kind of grown on me since I wrote this post, but I think she’s just so blah. But, I think Iker is also kind of blah so they may be a match made in football heaven. And I also hate those damn dandruff ads…at least he could have picked a more sophisticated product – sheesh!
